This case study focusses on Grupo Vidanta Riviera Maya, one of Mexico’s most lavish destinations. It started on the path towards sustainable tourism in 2004 using the EarthCheck Program, which has since created an ecological culture for employees, suppliers, and the surrounding community. Grupo Vidanta has undergone six years of benchmarking; achieving Silver Certified status in 2005 and Gold Certified status in 2010.
