This report presents the most fundamental regional tourism statistics which constitute the core of tourism satellite accounts at both national and state level. Although set in the context of regional Queensland, the approach adopted in this report can serve as a general guideline for further development of tourism statistics in other states of Australia and elsewhere.This report produces the first set of estimates of tourism’s economic contribution at the destination level, in effect a regional TSA.
